SMOKY MOUNTAIN WEDDINGS PERFORMED BY

Smoky Mountain Wedding Officiant
Pastor Doug Lubienski

Your wedding is a distinctive, unique expression of your love for each other. It is the result of planning, research, effort and the occasional tears to reach that special day. Your wedding is meant to be a beautiful treasured memory for years to come and is a significant start to your marriage. My desire is to help you achieve all you’ve planned. After all, no two couples are the same, and no two weddings should be exactly the same.

If you are planning for your wedding to be simple, traditional, or more modern, I will work to complement your vision. If you have considered options like communion, hand-fasting, foot-washing, unity tree planting, unity candles, or sand-blending, my approach is to help the couple getting married and their family and friends understand the symbolism of the ceremony.  If children are to be a part of the moment, they can be involved as well. For those couples who are further along on their marriage journey, it is my great privilege to assist in renewing your vows.

Whether you choose your wedding to be in the beautiful and picturesque East Tennessee Smoky Mountains or in a more urban venue, I will help bring the joy of the moment to reality.  You have put a lot of planning into the wedding day and venue, and I will work to bring dreams to reality in a memorable, treasured ceremony on your special day.

Do you perform counseling ahead of time?

As a minister and a wedding officiant, I have never just shown up to do a wedding. I think that it misses the special nature of the moment. It misses, if you will, the sacredness of the moment.

Before I officiate a wedding a week or two before the ceremony, I have a conversation with the couple. During that conversation, I will walk through the specifics of the ceremony.

Why do I enjoy officiating weddings?

In the grand scale of life, you can know somebody for such a short period of time and can actually make a difference with that moment. That is one of the most powerful things that can happen.

If I can read scripture that there’s something in that goes directly to the heart. It’s just not words that are flying by. If there’s somehow an impact or an effect on that individual or on that couple, that would be a good way of describing speaking into their lives, putting some truth into their lives.

What is the flow of the ceremony?

Many brides and grooms are using wedding planners or are using someone who is putting together elopement packages.  Considerable time is invested concerning the venue and the reception planning than on the ceremony.

I think the more important question that bride and groom should be asking is “What is the flow of the ceremony going to be?”

When should we get married?
